The new kid on the block this. But not quite, as it is actually the new annex to the popular rasta/reggae themed Payung Cafe. Indulge in this quaint and unpretentious budget beach accommodation next to the world-famous Cherating beach and Kampung Cherating.

10 chalets in all, with attached bathroom and queen size bed, small veranda to hang out if you prefer to be away from the crowd and indulge in your favourite book in the evening, or just to while away the hours. A bar is conveniently located on site.

Rates RM35 weekdays and RM40 weekends and public holidays. Of course the accommodation does not come with breakfast thrown in, but you may pre-order and have breakfast delivered to your chalet in the morning from the Payung Cafe kitchen, which serves up continental breakfast.

Beach activities can be arranged. Music of mostly the reggae genre, which incidentally is more or less the house specialty can be arranged, too. The proprietor, Poee, is among the more seriously inclined musicians in the country's pub circuit, but decided to grow his roots in these piece of beach paradise, that is Cherating.
