Next to Teluk Chempedak is Kuantan’s best-known secret -  Pantai Teluk Tongkang, which is connected to Teluk Chempedak by a short wooden bridge. If you think Teluk Chempedak is cool with all the happenings, Pantai Teluk Tongkang is what tropical beaches are all about - at least to those who crave for peace and beauty. It is not far from wrong to say that the water here is crystal clear and is very tempting, indeed.

If you back track into Kuantan's history, you fill appreciate that this was among the landing sites of the Imperial Japanese Army when they invaded Malaya during World War II. Re-live those moments by imagining the time when the sea-borne occupation forces hit the beach to eventually join up with their colleagues who fought their way down the peninsula from Siam.
