Tee-off above the clouds at Awana Genting Highlands

As varied as the natural make-up of the state itself, the state of Pahang offers a number of beautiful and challenging golf courses.

The Awana Golf and Country Club in Genting Highlands with its five different teeing positions is a self-contained purpose-built golf resort. The 9-hole Tioman Island Golf Course, designed by Roland Fream is set on Pulau Tioman, which is one of the world's most beautiful islands.

At Fraser's Hill, you can tee-off at the popular 18-hole public golf course and, perhaps graduate to the tricky 9-hole golf challenge in the cool mountain ambiance. In Cameron Highlands, try the Cameron Highlands Golf Course in Brinchang.

Down in the lowlands, tucked in a lush valley surrounded by mountains, the Bentong Golf Club, developed in the 1970s is a small nine-hole small course. The Raub Golf Club has a par-35 nine-hole golf course, while the Kelab Golf Sri Mahkota in Temerloh, spread over what was formerly swampland and jungle may look deceptively easy, but can engage you for hours with its par-36 nine hole layout.

In Kuantan, the proximity of the Raya Haji Golf Club to the South China Sea offers you an 18-hole course. In between these major locations, you can try-out the likes of the Selesa Golf Course in Bukit Tinggi, Lanjut Golf Course in Rompin and Maran Hill Golf Course in Maran.
