Fraser's
Golf & Country Club, opened in 1994, is
a par 70
course bearing Rodger Davis's signature. Measuring 5355 yards/4897 metres in
length, the golf course was developed
following the
hilly terrain at 4,000 feet above sea level
with temperatures ranging between 16-24
degree centigrade.
The interesting part is that each hole has a
name given to it, for example the 10th hole
is named "temptation" while the 12th hole par
3 index 18 is named "peanut" maybe for the
simple reason that it is an easy hole.
An alternative golf venue is the Royal
Fraser's Hill Golf Club, opposite the 'town'
square. The course has been there for a very
long time. Tee-off at 4,300 feet above sea
level amidst the swirling cold mist that
creeps on to the course in the late
afternoons. Short and undulating following
the contours of the narrow valley, this is a
rather tricky 9-hole challenge. Its unique
feature is the three-tiered 7th fairway,
which takes the shape of a man's body, and
then narrows down at the landing area and
widens again at the approach of the green.
